“Eve Arden, Danny Kaye Lucky For Each Other”

HOLLYWOOD—(INS)—Eve Arden and Danny Kaye have been good luck for one another. She was with him on the stage in “Let’s Face It.” She has been on his radio show and so it was Danny, himself, who asked Sam Goldwyn to sign her for his next movie, “The Kid From Brooklyn.” Danny, who is money in the bank for Sam at the box office, got his way. Pronto—Eve was signed.
The best thing the Arden girl has done is the role of the bombastic Russian, the femee guerrilla fighter, in the stage show of “Dough Girls.” If she gets a part like that on the screen, she’s on her way.
